Claire Breay, head of Medieval Manuscripts at the British Library, curated its major exhibition celebrating the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta in 2015. In conversation with Chintan Chandrachud, David Carpenter, Helena Kennedy and Patrick French, she explores the history and resonance of one of the most famous documents in the world. The session examines the origins and impact of the Magna Carta in the Middle Ages and how this failed medieval peace treaty became an international symbol of freedom and human rights as well as its impact on the Indian constitution.
